Subject: The Royal Hotel built in 1872 is the only operating hotel remaining in Hill End. At the height of the rush in the 1870s it was one of 27 hotels servicing a population of 8,000 people.

Subject: The former Hill End hospital, built in 1873, is now used as the National Parks and Wildlife Sevice visitor's centre. National Parks and Wildlife currently manage the site to maintain its heritage values.
